Penn State Schuylkill is seeking a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology to join a department that has a four-year degree program.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching three to four courses (12 credits) each semester. Courses will include introductory, lab, and upper-level Biology classes. The capability of teaching Anatomy and Physiology is preferred. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, and/or Saturday classes as needed. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include advising students, participating in committees, and other service and scholarly activities as appropriate. There is an expectation that the faculty member will maintain currency in the discipline through research, scholarship, and/or quality improvement initiatives that benefit the campus, the college, the university, our students, and the community and will also provide service to the campus, discipline, and society.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred). Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, engagement with fellow faculty members in ways that contribute to a scholarly community on campus, active leadership in campus life, and engagement in the community through outreach activities that address regional needs are required. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the use of instructional technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
