Job Description Summary

Responsible for processing, registrations, schedule changes, transcript requests, and other records functions. First point of contact for visitors to the Office of Records and Registration

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • One year of related experience or required coursework/certification.
  • One to two years of college credit is preferred.

CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for the Office of Records and Registration. Greets and assists students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Manage the office registrar email account, responding to inquiries in a polite and timely manner.
  • Registers students for credit and continuing education classes (including SAGE) and prints the registration statement/course schedule for students.
  • Maintains a high degree of familiarity with federal regulations regarding the release of student information and follows these guidelines when viewing or disseminating student information.
  • Protects the confidentiality of student academic and demographic information through the use of careful procedures for the storage and retrieval of student data.
  • Answers questions and provides pertinent information to prospective and current students, parents, and others making inquiries and making appropriate referrals to other college departments and offices. Inform students of institutional policies and procedures and complete the proper forms.
  • Provides exemplary customer service by maintaining a broad knowledge base of the College in order to serve a diverse student and employee population
  • Verifies student identification and produces student school ID cards
  • Review submitted documentation for accuracy, such as name changes, Social Security Number updates, and residency documents.
  • Assist with the processing of high school transcripts.

Job Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
  • Must be able to work Monday thru Friday:
  • 10 a.m-6 p.m.
