Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), the largest community college in Central Massachusetts serving over 13,000 students in degree and certificate programs, adult education and workforce development. Job Description:


General Statement

Adjunct instructors teach courses within a specific discipline to a diverse student population on our main campus in Worcester and/or at additional satellite locations within our service area (i.e., Southbridge, Downtown and area high schools). Courses may be assigned for days, evenings or weekends, and responsibilities include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students. Adjunct faculty will attend a limited number of faculty meetings. Instructors will teach courses for the Medical Assisting Program at our Downtown Worcester Campus.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adjunct Faculty will teach course(s) within a specific discipline to a diverse student population at our Downtown Worcester campus
  • Provides clinical, classroom, and/or laboratory instruction and facilitates individualized and non-traditional approaches to learning as appropriate.
  • Develops and/or revises instructional materials with department faculty; contributes to program assessment planning & analysis.
  • Develops and applies instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Evaluates student's clinical competence and clinical progress; accurately maintains clinical records.
  • Attends program faculty meetings as appropriate.
  • Actively supports the teaching and learning process; working to create and support a student-centered environment.
  • Maintains competency in the professional discipline, instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities.
  • Embraces the ideals of diversity and inclusiveness and support the equal rights of all people by advancing the understanding and appreciation of differences including age, race, gender, ability, religious convictions, socio-economic status, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.



Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current MA RT license & ARRT certification.
  • Equivalent of three years full-time experience as a radiographer in a clinical setting performing a full array of imaging procedures to include fluoroscopy & OR.
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience mentoring and/or training students/peers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Experience in teaching in higher education, preferably in a community college or related setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development, individualized and non-traditional approaches to learning.

Experience with personnel supervision, mentoring, evaluation methods.

Starting rate of pay is $1,291 per credit hour. Positions are MCCC Unit eligible.
