About Quinsigamond Community College:

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), the largest community college in Central Massachusetts serving over 13,000 students in degree and certificate programs, adult education and workforce development. Job Description:


General Statement

Provide support to the Office of Career and Transfer Services, with a strong emphasis on transfer services and activities, by sharing working knowledge of the labor market, career, and transfer resources, and QCC's programs to support individuals in identifying opportunities and pathways for achieving academic/transfer and career goals.

Reports to the Assistant Director of Career & Transfer Services

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Coordinator of Articulation and Transfer with the development and promotion of diverse and relevant transfer activities to support and encourage students to continue their education beyond QCC.
  • Create, coordinate, and deliver workshops and presentations designed to support students' transfer pathway exploration and attainment.
  • Deliver comprehensive transfer services information to students during scheduled classroom presentations.
  • Assist students with preparation for, and execution of, transfer to college or university.
  • Offer specialized transfer and career services through appointments, drop-in sessions, and group sessions, utilizing strategic approaches to help students select their academic and career paths.
  • Maintain expertise regarding individual course and QCC program transferability, transfer and career resources, labor market trends, special initiatives, and other relevant services to support students, alumni, prospective students, faculty, and staff to make informed decisions regarding educational options and corresponding career pathways.
  • Plan and execute transfer fairs, recruitment visits from universities, colleges, employers, special interest groups, professional associations, and other specialized initiatives.
  • Review college transcripts, majors, career objectives, and overall progress towards goals. Provide information about course and degree requirements at QCC and receiving institutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions in database (SIS, CRM).
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of Transfer Guides and Articulation Agreements.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, including baccalaureate colleges/universities and employers, to develop collaborations and secure external support.
  • Refer students to relevant student support offices including, but not limited to, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Tutoring, Student Accessibility Services, and Career Services.
  • Support students in developing personal effectiveness competencies (soft skills) through individual coaching and workshops.
  • Collect and track data for all initiatives, events, and activities for future analysis. Review evaluations and feedback to make recommendations for continuous improvement in transfer services.
  • Represent transfer and/or career services on college committees and work groups as assigned by supervisor.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, adapting program structures as needed.
  • Attend statewide meetings and training related to transfer services.
  • Some travel to off-site locations is required for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience and/or training that includes career development, transfer services, academic advisement, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidate; Spanish language fluency preferred.
  • Demonstrated passion for working with multicultural communities.
  • Proficiency using student information systems such as Banner, Jenzabar, or Colleague and CRM systems such as EAB Navigate and Starfish.
  • Experience with general student support services programs.
  • Experience providing support services and/or working on retention and success initiatives.
  • Experience working at a comprehensive community college.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google productivity platforms.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, and with preparing and giving presentations to audiences of various sizes.

Application Instructions:


Salary is competitive and commensurate with MCCC salary schedule and dependent upon such factors as education and experience. Minimum starting salary for a Grade 5 (Academic Counselor) with Bachelor's Degree is $63,288-$65,692 with a Master's Degree is $64,292-$67,568 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. 37.5 hours per week

**Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.

Monday through Thursday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional weekday and weekend hours may be required to meet student needs.
