Applications are currently being accepted for Clerk of Works
Acts as the owner’s representative to the contractor and answers questions as appropriate. Monitors construction projects from start to finish, while recording construction daily activity, including manpower, work performed and work completed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks: ♦ Conducts project surveillance on a daily basis; ♦ Prepares a daily construction diary outlining the various disciplines of work being accomplished, weather conditions, numbers and type of mechanics on the job, materials delivered and delaying factors, if any; ♦ Estimates weekly percent of completion; ♦ Interprets plans and specifications; ♦ Interfaces with the architect/engineer and the project contractor; ♦ Reports any and all maters requiring contract action to the Director of Maintenance; ♦ Reviews all partial payments received from the architect/engineer and recommends approval to the Director of Maintenance; ♦ Assists in developing a punch list of work to be completed; ♦ Recommends final payment upon substantial completion, in cooperation with architect/engineer, for transmittal to contractor; ♦ Monitors contractor activity to assure work is completed in accordance with contract documents; ♦ Coordinates owner’s work force and contractors with those of the general contractor; ♦ Possesses knowledge of building trades, including but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, concrete, site work, masonry and carpentry; ♦ Possesses the ability to use both written and oral communication in dealing with construction personnel, school personnel, architects, engineers and code officials; ♦ Possesses the ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks; ♦ Possesses the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
