Job Summary: Under general supervision, functions as a lead worker in maintaining building interiors, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and attractive conditions are maintained in assigned areas. May be required to move furniture and equipment. This position is expected to report to work in emergency situations such as extreme weather when the campus may be closed.
Authority and Accountability: This position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor, and has three C1 Housekeeping Assistants reporting to it. The position has no budgetary authority or accountability.
Required/Minimum Qualifications: One year of housekeeping experience required. Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or a medical examination to determine the ability to perform the job. Must have skill in the use and maintenance of housekeeping tools and equipment. Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment; to provide guidance and training to others. Must be able to lift 30 lbs and perform the following: walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, climbing, standing, repetitive motion, twisting, bending, sitting, pushing, pulling, crawling.Visit our website www.salisbury.edu/hr/careers/ to apply online. Preferred Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Two years’ experience with housekeeping equipment and/or duties preferred.
The position is full-time, non-exempt State positions with full benefits. Starting salary will be $15.86 per hour which is approximately $33,079 annually with a 2.5% increase after satisfactorily completing a six-month probationary period. The primary schedule associated with this position is Monday – Friday 4:00pm-12:30am, with occasional weekends required. The shift associated with these positions are eligible for shift differential of an additional $1.20 per hour. This position is also considered essential meaning the position is expected to report for work in emergency situations such as extreme weather conditions when the campus may be closed.
