San Francisco Behavioral Health Services (BHS) is increasingly expanding services under its Managed Care division which oversees the Office of Coordinated Care (OCC), Utilization Management (UM), and Quality Management (QM). The Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Deputy Medical Director of Managed Care will provide effective leadership and strategic direction in the partnership with the areas of service under the Director of Managed Care.

This role will be approximately 10-30% clinical responsibilities. This is 4-8 hours a week of direct patient care for people who are not connected or awaiting connection to ongoing care. Planning for a Mental Health Service Center is underway. For now, clinical work may occur at the Behavioral Health Access Center and through the office of Coordinated Care.

The 70-90% remaining you will support Behavioral Health Services in the capacity of a Deputy Medical Director which may include:

* Providing leadership and strategic direction in collaboration with OCC, Utilization Management (UM), Quality Management (QM), and Director of Managed Care.

* Engage and provide leadership with medical staff, UM Medical Director, OCC Nurse Practitioner, Mental Health Service Center medical staff, and other staff as presented.

* Expand low-threshold psychiatric service availability and increase access to care through improved planning and execution.

* Partner in the BHS Deputy Medical Director group.

* Comprehension of services, contracts and state and federal regulations as they relate to behavioral health services within the clinical care.




Qualify

1. Current valid CA license to by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California**

2. Current valid CA DEA license from the DOJ**

  1. Completion of an accredited residency program sanctioned by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association in a Board eligible Psychiatric medical specialty.
  2. Five (5) years of post-residency experience as a practicing Psychiatrist**
