FIELDS OPERATIONS SUPERINTENDENT

The Somerset County Sanitary District, Inc. is accepting applications for a Superintendent.
Applicants must have the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in management and operations of water and wastewater systems. Experience in the fields Water Treatment and Distribution and Wastewater Collection and Treatment required. Extensive knowledge of pumps, plumbing, and electricity and management practices.
• Maryland Board of Waterworks and Waste Systems Operators Certificates: Wastewater Treatment 5A and Water Treatment 3 required. Sewer Collections System 2 and Water Distribution System 2 are a plus.
• Valid Class D Driver’s License. Class B CDL Driver’s License with Air and Tanker Endorsements is a plus.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provide the preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities.

A copy of the applicant’s license and MVA Driving Record must be submitted with all applications.

The Superintendent position includes the following benefits: MD Pension System, Health Insurance, Vacation and Sick Leave.

The Position is a Grade 17 with a starting salary of $82,303 with a potential for negotiation based on candidate experience. Additionally, we are offering a sign-on bonus of $10,000, which will be disbursed incrementally over the initial 5 years of employment.
