Adjunct Clinical Nurse Instructor

This position is part-time and will require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate clinical site availability. The Adjunct Clinical Nurse Instructor will report to the Nursing Chairperson or designated nursing faculty member.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide clinical instruction and supervision to undergraduate nursing students in a healthcare setting
  • Facilitate learning experiences that promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and evidence based practice
  • Collaborate with nursing program faculty and clinical coordinator to develop and implement clinical learning objectives and evaluations
  • Guide students in the application of theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, ensuring the integration of nursing concepts and skills
  • Evaluate student performance in clinical settings, provide constructive feedback, and assess clinical competencies
  • Maintain open communication with clinical site staff, preceptors, clinical coordinator, and nursing program faculty to coordinate student placements and ensure a positive learning experience
  • Participate in faculty meetings and program evaluation activities as required
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current with trends in nursing education and practice


Required Qualifications


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • Current, active Missouri RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
  • Recent clinical experience in nursing practice, preferably in the area relevant to the clinical instruction assignment
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, students, and clinical partners
  • Prior teaching or precepting experience a plus, but not required
  • Commitment to professional growth and development, including completion of clinical faculty training offered in Fall 2024
