The Southwest Clean Air Agency is an organization committed to protecting public health through our
mission to preserve and enhance air quality in Southwest Washington. We are responsible for
implementing and enforcing air pollution laws including the state and federal Clean Air Act, and for
providing public education and outreach in five counties. This job provides an opportunity to improve
the health and livability of local communities by ensuring our air is clean. Our Vancouver Washington
office is located in a beautiful part of the Pacific Northwest within easy driving distance of scenic
coastal areas, beaches, the Columbia River Gorge, and nearby Mt Hood.


Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising several employees and overseeing
several of SWCAA's programs including compliance assurance, enforcement, grants, ambient air
monitoring, and education and outreach. This position reports to the Executive Director.


Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and valid driver's license is required for this position. Preference will be given to
a degree in business, public administration, engineering, environmental science, or a related field. A
master's degree is desirable. A minimum of eight years of experience in the environmental field and
five years of experience in management is required for this position. Preference will be given for
experience in air quality. We are seeking a person who has excellent communication and leadership
skills and is committed to our agency's mission.


Working Conditions
A four-day work schedule; working hours will typically be 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Thursday.
Applicants must be willing and able to work in an office environment with some outdoor site visits in a
variety of industrial, commercial, residential, and rural settings, drive long distances and work
occasional odd hours.


Salary
The salary range for this position is $8,419 to $12,629 per month based on qualifications and
experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least eight years of experience in an environmental field, preferably air pollution; and five years of supervisory experience; and

A Bachelors degree in either business, public administration, engineering, environmental science, or a related field. A masters degree is desirable.
