Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, the Facilities Operations System Administrator is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, data collecting, reporting, and resolving issues with Real Estate and Facilities (RE&F) operational systems such as HVAC, lighting, and access control.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Serves as facility operations systems administrator for all related licensing, support, upgrades, and maintenance of information systems including upgrades, troubleshooting and recovery
  • Works closely with vendors, team members, and other stakeholders to coordinate and lead facility operations information systems, projects, and adoption of new systems
  • Provides a cohesive view of the department's technology resource utilization and provides a plan for technology security, optimization, growth, and adoption
  • Partners with the Tarrant County College (TCC) technology department to develop, coordinate, and maintain all aspects of software and hardware acquisition and interface, design and development, upgrades, and system maintenance
  • Researches data in response to internal and external information requests; responds to information requests in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; maintains a record of the information disseminated for tracking purposes
  • Trains the facility operations' team and other end users, on information systems, technology security, and emerging technologies
  • Maintains and supports RE&F's various building automation systems such as Reliable Controls, nLight, FileMaker Pro, DMP Panic Button Alarm, Guard Card, Keywatchman, and Lockcodes
  • Maintains information systems documentation and oversees the management of all facility operations information system related records
  • Evaluates new technologies, recommends purchases, and prepares bid requests for proposed projects

Supervision

This position works under the general supervision of the Director Facilities Operations

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree and three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or equivalent combination of education and working experience
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in facility operational systems including Reliable Controls, nLight, FileMaker Pro, DMP Panic Button Alarm, Guard Card, Keywatchman, and Lockcodes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of RE&F operational systems including, HVAC, lighting, access control, and other operational systems such as Reliable Controls, nLight, FileMaker Pro, DMP Panic Button Alarm, Guard Card, Keywatchman, and Lockcodes
  • Skilled using and computerized applications and enterprise systems, such as RE&F HVAC, lighting, and access control
  • Skilled in system administration duties
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
