Our next Human Resources Compliance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of all compliance tasks related to the employee lifecycle; including but not limited to employment law (EEO, signage, and documentation), training, proactive audits of compliance activities across HR, required state and federal reporting, and special compliance projects.

You will be challenged to work both strategically and tactically to foster relationships across the Human Resources function and broader company to deliver value-added service to management and employees.

One minute you will be partnering with an HR Business Partner on an employee relations investigation.

The next minute diving into an HR policy audit.

And the next minute working with stakeholders to ensure their systems are designed to comply with EEO laws and regulations.

Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with many diverse teams and stakeholders across the organization.

Where you'll be planted:

This is a hybrid position that requires regular on-site presence in our King of Prussia, PA location. This position requires occasional travel to the company's respective grow and/or retail locations.

To be blunt, this person will:

  • Conduct risk analyses, audits, and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and recommend updates as necessary.
  • Keep up with changes in employment laws, regulations, and industry trends that could impact HR compliance and proactively inform HR leadership and management in Retail and Grow of potential changes and implications.
  • Ensure that company systems are configured and designed to comply with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws and regulations and are also aligned with HR policies.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide policies and processes related to employee compliance are outlined, updated, and reviewed regularly. This includes ownership of all versions of the Employee Handbook at enterprise and state level.
  • Coordinate with Legal to ensure all HR policies and practices are in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide guidance to HRBPs as needed on handling of Employee issues and ensure that policies are enforced equitably across the organization.
  • Track and report on compliance metrics to HR leadership and Legal.
  • Keep track of workers' compensation cases, providing updates to relevant parties and ensuring compliance with legal requirements; prepare annual OSHA300 forms in partnership with EHS Manager..
  • Assist in filing workers' compensation claims, ensuring all required documentation is collected and submitted•
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of annual compliance filings as needed & EEO audits.
  • Other HR and business projects as assigned.

What We’re High On... We value diverse skillsets, talents, and experiences. To be successful in this role, we know you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of Human Resources generalist experience required; experience managing employee relations and compliance matters strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple field teams across different locations. Multi-state experience highly preferred.
  • Experience leading projects and understanding of project management methodology.
  • Strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to drive process improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Prior Human Resources professional experience working with leaders in a large / matrix organization is a plus.
  • Understanding of employment laws, regulations, and executive orders enforced by the EEOC, and other agencies.
  • Understanding of federal and state requirements for employer compliance reporting and ability to work cross-functionally to execute.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
