Description: Are you passionate about environmental stewardship and ensuring the health and safety of your community? The Town of Mount Airy is seeking a dedicated Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a vital member of our organization, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct operations and maintenance tasks for water and wastewater treatment plants. Perform sample water collection and laboratory analysis. Make process adjustments and chemical feed pump adjustments as necessary. Execute preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant performance. Hold Class 5A Wastewater and Class 3 Water Treatment fully certified operator licenses. Assist in snow removal operations during inclement weather.

Mandatory weekend duty: Work one weekend per month, consisting of 4-hour shifts.

Qualifications: Possession of Class 5A Wastewater and Class 3 Water Treatment fully certified operator licenses. Experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
