Physical Requirements
Position will require walking and driving around campus and state, lifting equipment less than 25lbs, climbing ladders on rare occasions, sitting at desk and data entry.
Shift
Monday – Friday; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Job Summary
Acts as the primary safety consultant to university personnel. Develops, evaluates, and manages safety programs and training courses to control occupational hazards and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and other regulatory requirements and university policies. Programs include but are not limited to: Hazard Communication, Hazardous Energy Isolation, Confined Space, and Construction Safety. Performs safety audits in various university sectors including facilities, agriculture, machine shops, arts, and some research areas. Performs accident investigations. Compiles and trends injury and illness data that are reported to internal and external customers.
A complete application and resume are required. A one-page writing sample (i.e. tool box talk or safety newsletter) is optional.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Preferred Education/Experience
Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, engineering, or related field.
Three years of experience plus a Masters in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Health and safety, or related field. Certified Safety Professional ( CSP); Experience with databases like Access; Farm Safety
