Job Summary
The Department of Physics & Astronomy, in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Scientist II to work in the lab of Dr. Ryan Sanders. This position will work in Astronomy & Astrophysics in the field of galaxy formation and evolution using observational data sets from ground and space based telescopes.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• understanding the growth of galaxy stellar mass
• chemical enrichment of the interstellar medium
• the baryon cycle
• the ionization state of the interstellar medium using ultraviolet, optical, and near-infrared spectroscopy
This position will work with Dr. Sanders to secure continued funding and present research findings at local, regional, national, and international conferences. This position will meet with undergraduate and graduate students in an advisory/supervisory capacity related to overlapping or adjacent research topics. This position is integral to the research aims of the Sanders Lab.
