Job Description

The University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) seeks to fill the position ofDirector of Student Recruitment. The director will provide leadership for undergraduate student recruitment, manage the recruitment budget, and provide information concerning applicable admissions policies to prospective students and families. The position includes supervision of support staff and CAFNR Ambassadors. The director is expected to project an effective and consistent image of CAFNR and the University by working with MU Office of Admissions, high school teachers and administrators, and community colleges to create partnerships to recruit students into the college's 14 degree programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Plan and coordinate recruitment programs and events:Conduct student recruitment programs and develop and maintain effective communication with middle and high school age (7-12 grades) and community college students. Advise and assist prospective students and families by explaining degree programs, admissions requirements, scholarships, and financial aid. Extensive public speaking to large and small audiences required. Coordinate recruitment and admissions programs for targeted audiences including underrepresented populations and high-ability students. Coordinate involvement and travel to regional recruitment events, college fairs, and Mizzou Admissions events. Organize and coordinate on-campus summer academies for high school students.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external audiences:Coordinate and collaborate with the university's offices of Admissions and Enrollment Management and other academic unit recruiters to develop recruitment strategies, plan events, and obtain prospective student databases. Collaborate with MU Extension personnel and secondary teachers (e.g., agriculture, science) across the state to provide information and materials about CAFNR and Mizzou. Facilitate professional development and collaboration through participation in the MO Association of College Admission Counseling (MOACAC).
  3. Collaborate within CAFNR:Keep faculty and staff up to date regarding admissions requirements, dates and deadlines, scholarships, loans, and other forms of financial assistance available to qualifying students. Assist with events of the Office of Academic Programs (e.g., Graduation, Academic Day).
  4. Coordinate development of recruitment materials:Collaborate with CAFNR's Office of Marketing & Communications to develop recruitment materials and displays for various market segments including high-ability students, underrepresented populations, rural students, urban students, parents, and guidance personnel. Monitor and provide updated student recruitment information for the CAFNR website. Coordinate and develop communications and marketing for recruitment events.
  5. Supervision and leadership:Guide the recruitment, training, and activities of the CAFNR Ambassadors. Lead the CAFNR Student Recruitment Committee in planning and conducting the college's recruitment program. Provide leadership and supervision for Recruitment and Event Specialist, CAFNR Ambassadors, support staff, and student interns.
Shift

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Evenings and weekend hours required as needed to accomplish goals. Some travel is also required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree and two years of relevant professional experience in recruitment. Exceptional knowledge of MU and CAFNR, along with demonstrated ability to communicate well and provide leadership.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $58,000 - $65,000/ year Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Grade: GGS-10
