Job Description

As a core member of the College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources (CAFNR Advancement Team), this position's primary focus is to develop and implement strategies that engage alumni in support of CAFNR and the University of Missouri.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Liaison with the CAFNR Alumni Association to develop and achieve the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Direct alumni activities and communications to foster existing relationships and to build new relationships with alumni, friends and donors including the CAFNR Unlimited event, CAFNR Alumni Golf Classic, CAFNR Alumni Awards and others.
  • Manage opportunities that engage volunteers in service including working with CAFNR Office of Academic Programs to assist with student recruitment as well as training, support, and stewardship of alumni leaders.
  • Plan and execute events for CAFNR that have an alumni presence including coordination of Mizzou Central building at the Missouri State Fair, CAFNR Celebration of Excellence event, Ag Day, and the CAFNR McQuinn Holiday Party.
  • Coordinate with Central Advancement on annual giving programs and projects such as Giving Day and other CAFNR annual giving appeals.
  • Manage budgets, membership activities, fundraising events, and campus resources in accordance with University policies and procedures including allocations from a $2 million endowment.
  • Exercise discretion and judgement in the performance of all duties including collaborations with key partners including the CAFNR Alumni Association, Mizzou Alumni Association, Athletics, Extension & Engagement, Donor Relations, Marketing & Communication, and others to support outreach efforts.
  • Supervise and train student employees and interns.
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.
Shift

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with flexibility for evening and weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years experience in alumni/volunteer relations, public relations or equivalent transferable skills showing an understanding of higher education advancement.
  • 2-3 years experience (preferred) in event planning or management.
  • Experience managing budgets and other fiscal responsibilities
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875-$70,880

Grade: GGS-10
