Job Description

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an opening for a Medical Scribe.

Primary duties: work to facilitate patient flow and ensure accurate and complete medical records for each patient.

Accompany physician into the patient examination room when appropriate in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.

List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.

Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

Chart provider/patient encounter in real time. Document any procedures performed by the physician.

Support care delivery by assisting with laboratory orders, patient referrals, and other duties assigned.

Shift

Weekdays between 8am-5pm, up to 24 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge or abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Six (6) months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $14 - $20 hourly
Grade: PAT-3A
