Job Description

• Specialize in charting physician-patient encounters in detail, with a specific knowledge and use of medical and ophthalmic terminology
• Obtain accurate and detailed patient history
• Construct charts using the SOAP (subjective, objective, assessment/plan) method
• Navigate Citrix Receiver and utilize PowerChart to communicate with patients and staff
• Utilize PowerChart for ordering proposals for ancillary testing and fulfilling prescription refill requests for patients
• Utilize Zeiss and Forum for ophthalmic imaging
• Be compliant with infection control, basic sanitation/sterile protocol, and HIPAA
• Be able to perform basic patient care- a full ophthalmic workup exam including obtaining intraocular pressure, Visual Acuity, visual fields (confrontational and automated), etc.
• Utilize machinery for diagnostic testing (OCT, HVF, Goldman VF)
• Be able to Answer/transfer phone calls, faxing/copying, entering lab/diagnostic testing results, record bedside procedures, provide assistance with minor procedures (within physician's discretion)
• Input intraocular lens measurements for physician use in the OR (ORA)

Shift

Monday - Friday

Hours will vary with business needs.

20 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure: Not required.

Experience: 6 months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $14.00 -$21.18 (Hourly)

Grade: PAT-003
