Job Description

This position reports to the PI indirectly and the Division Administrator directly, and is responsible for planning, coordinating, regulatory and oversight of the daily activities for a high-impact research laboratory conducting grant funded research defining the mechanisms related to diabetes. The position provides professional technical expertise to others in the lab in accordance with PI directed research activities.

Provides oversight and leadership to basic science protocol environment, ensures full compliance with all research protocols.
Performs highly technical assignments using established procedures.
Serves as a professional, technical resource for other research personnel. May oversee, direct, and monitor the quality of their tasks as related to the research protocols.
Analyzes and interprets the results of studies, may make recommendations to processes in accordance with the protocols of the lab.
Investigates and recommends alternative approaches to improve the quality of results.
Train/teach new techniques used on a regular basis in the laboratory.
Will work with internal and external parties to accomplish the work.
Recommends new equipment and supplies needed for specialized procedures.
Monitors the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances.
Performs related responsibilities as required.

Shift

Mon – Fri 8:00 – 5:00 Nights and weekends as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 - $60,000
Grade: GGS-9E
