The Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, Division of Restorative Sciences, at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine invites applicants for full-time faculty positions on the Academic Clinician track at the Assistant or Associate or Full Professor level. The faculty will serve in a Clinical and Administrative role as a Primary Care Unit Leader (Group Practice Leader) for the Pre-doctoral Patient Treatment Center in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences.

The role of Primary Care Unit Leader for the Pre-doctoral Patient Treatment Center, in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, is complex with broad responsibility for the management of a clinical practice comprised of approximately 30-35 third-year and 30-35 fourth-year pre-doctoral students. The Primary Care Unit Leaders (PCU) are tasked with ensuring the clinical education of their students and work in synergy with our mission of patient centered care. To this end they work hand in hand with our coordinators, students, staff, faculty, and patients. Primary Care Unit Leaders, along with their faculty colleagues are responsible for the daily treatment of their patients and clinical education of their students. PCU Leaders are responsible for the QA, implementation of the School of Dental Medicine's protocols and processes, monthly meetings with their students to review their educational and treatment related practices, daily management and oversight of the students, faculty, and patients within their practice.


Qualifications
This full-time position calls for a person who, through excellence in administration, teaching, and clinical practice in restorative dentistry, is able to build and maintain the department's reputation nationally and internationally through leadership and direction of department activities. Candidates must hold a DMD/DDS degree and be eligible to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
