The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Radiology with subspecialty expertise in Abdominal Imaging. Experience in leadership roles is considered a positive. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.

Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision of residents and abdominal imaging fellows and lecturing to medical students, radiology residents, fellows, and trainees from other departments.

Clinical responsibilities include part of the spectrum of Abdominal Imaging, including body CT, body MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and image-guided biopsies.

Administrative responsibilities include the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse group of faculty dedicated to practicing in a dynamic environment. Faculty mentoring experience is desirable.

The Abdominal Imaging Division at Penn Medicine is dedicated to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence, research, and education and has a long history of leadership in the field. We are seeking individuals to lead the division into the future. The Penn Medicine Abdominal Imaging Division includes 24 faculty that practice across the HUP and Penn Presbyterian campuses, providing CT, MRI, US, Fluro, abdominal radiograph and image guided biopsy services. They also interpret selected examinations performed at outpatient offices. The clinical activity accounts for approximately 190,000 wRVU's per year. The division also runs a robust ACGME fellowship in Abdominal Imaging that includes approximately 9 fellows/year in addition to its contributions to resident education.

The division maintains strong clinical and translational research programs featuring extensive collaboration with basic imaging research laboratories including programs featuring artificial intelligence, molecular imaging, image methods development and more. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit, support, and mentor faculty specializing in Abdominal Imaging and collaborate with other leaders in the department, cancer center, and hospital entities.
