Job Description Summary
Digital Library Development is providing a career development opportunity for undergraduate students who are interested in software development, data analytics, and quality assurance in an academic library environment. The Digital Library Development intern will be a member of the cross-functional team of focused on testing and launching the library's new discovery system. Over a period of 12 weeks, they will work closely with developers, metadata specialists, data analysts, user researchers, and librarians to evaluate the new system's usability and validate its core functionality

Job Description

- Evaluate system usability against core tasks and performance metrics

- Participate in user testing sessions together with user researchers to aid design decisions

- Run and modify automated testing scripts

- Review and analyze user-submitted feedback

- Create and interpret usage reports based on system logs and analytics data - Observe and learn from libraries staff in different roles

Qualifications:

-Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in computer science, data science, or related field

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Experience and facility with spreadsheets, data processing tools, and programming/scripting preferred

- Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics and usability research methods preferred
