Position for Academic Epileptologist

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are seeking epileptologists at the assistant professor level. Candidates require comprehensive expertise in epilepsy, including all aspects of electroencephalography, CCTV-EEG monitoring with an emphasis on non-invasive and invasive presurgical evaluations, and the comprehensive medical management of patients with intractable epilepsy. At the Level 4 NAEC Epilepsy Center, available facilities and services include a dedicated 8-bed adult epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment including automatic SPECT injectors, extensive EEG facilities with a dedicated ICU Monitoring EEG Service, multimodality neuroimaging that includes 1.5-7.0 T MRI, fMRI, PET, PET-MRI, SPECT, and a whole-head MEG System and a multidisciplinary treatment team. Candidates must be qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania and meet the requirements necessary for a faculty position at the University of Pittsburgh. Two-year subspecialty epilepsy training is much preferred, while otherwise strong candidates with one year of experience will be considered. Faculty rank will depend on experience and academic credentials. Candidates with interest in either clinical or basic science epilepsy research are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a medical degree – MD, DO, or foreign equivalent, Board Certified or board eligible in General Neurology fellowship training or foreign equivalent and also have clinical interest and expertise in Epilepsy medicine.
