Appointment: One-year visiting assistant professor in Philosophy for the 2024-25 academic year.

Responsibilities: Teach five courses for the year, to include one section of Introduction to Philosophy and one section of Ethics, Data, & Artificial Intelligence each semester and one upper-level undergraduate course in the candidate's area of specialty in the spring.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree (ABD considered) in Philosophy and a commitment to liberal arts education are required. We are seeking candidates with research or teaching interests in Philosophy of AI.

Faculty salaries at the University of Puget Sound are based on a common salary scale based on experience. Assistant Professor salaries for 5/6 units for 2023-24 begin at $59,577 annualized in their first year of full-time post-doctorate teaching through $66,669 annualized based on experience. ($59,160 to $65,987 for ABD)
