The Golf Superintendent provides care and maintenance of the Player Development Complex for the men's and women's golf teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides)
- Provides care and maintenance of the Men's and Women's Golf Player Development Complex including the facility, hitting bay, driving range, putting/chipping greens, pitching and chipping areas, practice holes, and equipment
- Manages water usage through irrigation systems
- Anticipates personnel, equipment, and material requirements related to golf course maintenance and repair assignments
- Develops annual operating budget and plans for maintenance and capital improvement projects
- Orders parts, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Maintains records and completes required reporting
- Knowledge of golf
- Extensive knowledge of golf course management
- Knowledge of safe use, mixing, and application of chemicals and commercial products
- Knowledge of management and maintenance of greens, fairways, and roughs
- Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course construction and maintenance work
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma and six years of relevant golf course management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: A BS/BA degree in turf management or related field are preferred.
