Location: Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center (Oak Ridge, TN)

Description: This position provides administrative, accounting, and public relations support for the research, education and outreach mission of the UT Forest Resources AgResearch and Education Center – Oak Ridge Forest/Arboretum located in Oak Ridge, TN. Other locations served remotely are the Cumberland Forest in Morgan/Scott Counties and the Highland Rim Forest in Tullahoma, TN.
Qualifications :
Responsibilities include:
- Process payroll
- Budget monitoring and financial management
- Procurement card management and verification
- Maintaining departmental budget and procurement cards
- Accounts payable
- Reconciling monthly accounting ledgers
- Maintaining departmental files
- Preparing and processing travel reimbursements
- Process HR transactions
- Ensure compliance with University Policies and Procedures (Fiscal and Human Resource)
- Purchasing supplies
- Perform general clerical duties and maintain department records
- Provides center information to visitors and clientele when requested
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Required Are:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Three years of administrative, financial, or business experience in a public or private office setting.
- Desired Are:
- A.S in Office Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field degree preferred.
- Five years of administrative/financial/business experience in a public or private office setting preferred.
- Required:
- Experience with computers and common software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting operations.
- Computer skills with relevant programs, social media platforms and center-level web design/maintenance.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Strong professional customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preferred
- General knowledge of UT Policy and Procedures
- Skilled in scheduling and event planning.
- Basic knowledge of production agriculture and natural resources.
