The Office of Enrollment Management Communications at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Admissions Communications Coordinator position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhancing the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, improving the recruitment and graduation of our students.

The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

Create marketing emails, texts, and print (mailing tracks) in CRM systems for the Division of Enrollment Management (EM). Develop strategic email and SMS communication plan for outreach efforts to prospective students, and campus partners. Maintain and enhance features in the applicant portal, lead generation forms and corresponding form communications as needed. Update language in letters of admission and coordinate with the CRM team to ensure proper implementation prior to decision releases. Assist in testing communications prior to decision releases. Lead content creation and copywriting for email, print, social, and SMS communication tactics. Lead project requirements, delivery of assets, and production timelines. Develop communication schedule, confirm scheduling with stakeholders, and monitor deployments for completion and deliverability. Create and monitor overall content calendar to ensure optimal email frequency and cadence.


Qualifications :

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience related to duties and responsibilities, including internship or practicum experience.

• Experience working under tight deadlines.

• Experience with Mac operating systems, and Microsoft Office.

• Experience with email distribution programs.

• Familiarity with databases and list management.



Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's Degree-

• Experience using Slate CRM, Asana project management system, Banner, and/or Emma.

• Knowledge of HTML editors and coding.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of email & SMS marketing best practices.

• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects from a variety of stakeholders.

• Must exhibit exceptional attention to detail and can produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must have the ability to learn, be adaptable and flexible to change, and be innovative.

• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels with a variety of backgrounds.

• Ability to be creative and proactive yet disciplined, to prioritize workload.



Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of higher education workflow.

• Knowledge and understanding of one or more production disciplines: print, digital, and broadcast (multi-media).

• Sound knowledge of Slate CRM system and Asana project management system.

• Knowledge of social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat.

• Knowledge of university style and communications standards.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Center for Financial Wellness, University Registrar, Pre-college Research Excellence Programs, EM Research & Analytics, EM Communications, and EM Operations.
