Desirable research areas include, but are not limited to: high-temperature materials and structures, material system simulations, experimental aerothermodynamics, simulations of high-enthalpy flows, and high-speed propulsion-oriented research. However, all outstanding candidates possessing a strong background in fundamental science and engineering relevant to aerospace and/or mechanical engineering will be considered as multiple positions are available and there are many emerging opportunities for collaborative multidisciplinary research. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to contribute to the growing UT Aerospace & Defense portfolio, be capable of engaging with government and industry in research areas beyond basic science, and contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. Additionally, the candidate is expected to be able to work in an environment conforming to International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) requirements.
