The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor (depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate) that is broadly focused on artificial intelligence in aerospace engineering.

Specific methodological areas of interest include but are not limited to learning, perception, knowledge representation, statistics, uncertainty quantification, reasoning, planning, optimization, control, natural language processing and emerging computing and sensing paradigms.

Candidates are encouraged to view these areas of interest in the broadest sense when determining whether they are well suited for this position. They will also be expected to have a demonstrated interest in the application of these areas to aerospace engineering.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related area. The successful candidate will be expected to create undergraduate and graduate learning environments that address the needs of students from a variety of backgrounds, with differing learning styles and abilities. Further, the successful applicant will be expected to develop an externally sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and profession.
