Tenure Track, Assistant Professor position, Geographic Information Science (GIS), University of Toledo
The University of Toledo Department of Geography and Planning invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Geography to begin August 2022. The ideal candidate will have an expertise in geographic information science (GIS) and be able to teach courses in GIS, Quantitative Methods and related topics, including spatial analysis, data visualization, and GIS programming. The candidate will play a key role in contributing to the education and advising of students in the MA geography and Ph.D. Spatially Integrated Social Sciences (SISS) graduate programs. In addition to teaching, the candidate must be committed to academic scholarship, seeking external research funding and to performing university and community service. The candidate will also be involved with the GISAG University Research Center, housed in the Department and which has secured over $15 million in external funding since 2010 . Qualifications:
Must have an earned Ph.D. in Geography. Candidates close to Ph.D. completion at the time of appointment will be considered. The candidate should bring additional areas of expertise and research focus that complement existing specializations within the Department, such as environmental geography, transportation, housing, cultural and historical geography, urban and regional planning, remote sensing, or economic geography.
