Job Summary

As the Director of Administration, you will engage actively in both the strategic management and the hands-on execution of finance, space planning, facility management, and human resources tasks across all departments of University Advancement. This role serves as the primary liaison for Advancement to critical university departments including General Accounting, Purchasing, Facilities Management, and Human Resources. You will report directly to the Deputy Chief Philanthropy Officer – Operations and will supervise a small team of administrative staff.

This is a key leadership position that demands a versatile approach, capable of both high-level strategic planning and direct involvement in the administrative work that keeps the department running smoothly. Responsibilities

Financial Oversight: Manage and strategize the department's financial operations–– including procurement, payroll, expense accounting, and the FY budget––ensuring fiscal health and accountability.
Space and Facility Management: Lead the planning and management of our physical spaces, creating an environment that fosters productivity and collaboration.
Human Resources: In collaboration with the University's HR Department, handle and oversee human resources functions for Advancement, playing a pivotal role in employee recordkeeping, hiring, onboarding, promotions, performance management, career ladders, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Strategic Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between University Advancement and key university departments like General Accounting, Purchasing, Facilities Management, and Human Resources, as well as with outside vendors and contractors.
Executive Reporting: Directly report to the Deputy Chief Philanthropy Officer, providing vital insights and strategic direction for departmental growth, while maintaining a close connection to the day-to-day administrative work.
Staff Training: Empower the staff through policies, processes, and training in close collaboration with the Talent Enhancement team.
Team Leadership: Supervise and inspire the administrative staff of Campus Advancement, guiding them towards achieving operational excellence and enhancing the employee experience, while also participating in the operational tasks alongside them.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.

Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related area preferred.
