Job Summary

Oversees, directs, and manages all aspects of gift processing for the University. The person in this position serves as a senior member of the gift processing team assisting in the support of the gift processors, campus fundraising community, and university donors.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to administrative functions of assigned department's internal and external customer service, staff management and financial management operations pertaining to areas including data/records maintenance, supply management, word processing, telecommunications, office equipment maintenance, and office support. Acts as a catalyst between the department and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care.

Responsibilities

1. Oversees day-to-day operations and procedures of the gift processing team.
2. Oversees the collection and organization of gift data for gift processing staff's review.
3. Manages gift deposits, assigning batches to various team members.
4. Researches and evaluates all gift-related data for accuracy and completeness— reconciling
against source documents as necessary—to ensure accurate information is loaded into the development
database and donors are receipted correctly.
5. Identifies gift-related data issues and works with campus areas to help them provide the gift
processing team accurate and complete data.
6. Stays up-to-date on legal or other related changes impacting charitable donations and makes
recommendations for improvement and compliance.
7. Handles escalated gift-related calls and issues as needed.
8. Develop systems and maintain records to support donations.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience maybe substituted for 1 year of education). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department's area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.

Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences

Self-motivated and intuitive. Experience managing multiple projects at once, excellent proof-reading skills and experience with data entry highly preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
