Job Summary

University Campus Computer Support has an immediate opening for an IT System Administrator Sr. We are seeking a highly motivated upbeat, friendly and approachable individual to work within a dynamic team to provide expertise for Jamf, SCCM, server support, and other specialized software. Other responsibilities include assistance with department management and development of toolsets for a University wide security initiative.
The incumbent must be a highly skilled IT professional who is knowledgeable in desktop and server computer configuration and support, including operating system and application troubleshooting as well as network configuration and information flow.
The incumbent will also provide assistance for unique end user Windows and Mac support needs. This position is an onsite position.
The incumbent will work as a team member and a trainer for other staff for any specialized systems, processes or departmental procedures. This position requires a continual learning effort for supporting both new and old software and technologies for different client needs and must be available 247 as necessary including on call duties.

Responsibilities
  • Server and desktop maintenance, updates, upgrades
  • Specialized application support and maintenance
  • Active directory group policy and preference management
  • Database or web services management and end user assistance
  • Configuration and management of SCCM and Jamf device management systems for departmental use for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server, software, computer, network, printer problems as well as active directory connectivity issues
  • Peer training and training of departmental staff on special software and hardware functionality
  • Computer management scripting using Powershell and Bash
  • Creating procedural guides for systems, tablet and/or smart phone configuration, and specialized system configurations.
  • Remote connection management
  • Security tool set configuration and roll out strategies
  • Conference room/classroom technologies configuration and support
  • System monitoring
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Require a bachelor's degree in a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

• 10 years of Systems Administrator and/or Systems Engineer experience
• Extensive experience with configuration and support of Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, MS Office products, Adobe products, MacOS and their best practices
• Intune configuration and management experience.
• SCCM setup, configuration and maintenance.
• Jamf management and configuration experience
• Database management
• Project management
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Experience with VMware, RDS, Storage management systems and server hardware
• AV systems and solutions
• A+, MCSE, CCNA, Network+, or other applicable certifications
