Vermont Irrigation Inc. is a 30-year-old irrigation company in Colchester, Vermont. We do most of our work within 30 minutes of the Burlington area, but the service area extends from N.E. New York to Maine. Our company installs and maintains lawn sprinkler systems. We strive to be our customers' favorite contractor and they are always happy to hear from us! The foreman is responsible for managing and assisting the crew in providing irrigation installation and maintenance services for customers and ensuring that services are delivered in a manner that adheres to our high standards of quality, workmanship, and professionalism.

Provides on the job instruction and training in performing all aspect of irrigation system installation; inspects the job site before starting a task for any unforeseen obstacles and checking the site after the task is complete to check for missing tools and the quality workmanship of the crew; organizes the crew in use of time and materials to ensure the task is completed at or under hours budgeted; safely loads and unloads equipment in trucks or on trailers; completes accurately daily hours, records and updates plans.

* Understands and enforces all company policies and procedures.

* Attends job related training as needed; attends and assists in weekly meetings; communicates verbally and in writing with manager.

* Must maintain complete, accurate and timely records for the company.

* Responsible for the safety, care and proper utilization of all company assets and crew members.

* Maintains company equipment, machines and vehicles.

* Must have the ability to work closely with other staff and clients.

* Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* This person must be able to manage a crew.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years experience in irrigation and/or landscaping. Highly detailed and take pride in his/her work.

Required Qualifications:

* High School diploma or equivalent, secondary education preferable.

* Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and have previous supervisory experience.

* Commitment to providing only the best services to clients.

* Must possess a clean, valid Driver's License.

* Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

* Basic reasoning and time management ability to coordinate effective completion of tasks.

* The ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.

* Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays when required.
