Emergency Veterinarian

The Veterinary Medical Center at LWR is a privately owned hospital in Lakewood Ranch, FL. We are located about 1 hour south of Tampa and very close to the cities of Sarasota and Bradenton, FL. Our hospital contains a busy General Practice as well as a 24/7 Emergency service. We are currently in the process of a 12,000 sq foot expansion for our Emergency & Specialty Center. We are growing quickly and looking to add an additional emergency veterinarian to our team.

Our hospital contains both a General Practice as well as an Emergency & Critical Care department. Our new Emergency & Critical Care hospital will have 13 exam rooms, a CT machine, hyperbaric, two welcoming reception areas, two surgery suites, an on-site animal blood bank (run by our Crit Care team), a dedicated ultrasound room, a separate cat ward, separated isolation facilities, and more. We have brand new equipment including full anesthesia monitors (HR, RR, CO2, O2, temp. etc), doppler and oscillometric BP, three ICU oxygen units, heska fluid pumps, digital radiology with telemedicine, cardiopet, ultrasound machines, IDEXX in house blood machines (cbc, chem, u/a, pt/ptt, iSTAT, lactate, and more), a new cardiostart defibrillator, companion animal laser machine, endoscopy, high flow oxygen, NOVA, mechanical ventilation, and more! We are actively recruiting specialists with a goal to have a complete specialty team in the very near future.

We have two Criticalists currently on staff. We have a team of 10 full time emergency doctors. We have a solid team of veterinary technicians. Our hospital is open 24/7 without any lapses in coverage. We are known for our approach to customer/patient care and have been a part of the Bradenton/Sarasota community for 20+ years. Schedule:

* A part-time or full-time schedule is available ranging from 8-12 shifts per month which includes weekends, overnights and holidays.

Compensation:

* Our emergency veterinarians are paid a competitive yearly salary.
