We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and dedicated CTO Recruiter to support the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office and its portfolio of staff searches. This role will lead and manage the full life cycle of recruitment for all CTO positions.

The CTO Recruiter will have a significant impact on attracting the next generation of staff in the Clinical Trials Office. The ideal candidate will be a professional with significant, demonstrated experience in building and maintaining trusted relationships in a complex environment, developing robust recruitment strategies whilst contributing to a high performing team.

The ideal candidate fosters a vibrant, engaging and inclusive campus environment and effectively sources and recruits top talent that will further support the CTO's growth.

Position responsibilities:
  • Develop effective recruitment strategies by taking a consultative approach with hiring teams
  • Utilize innovative sourcing techniques to find, connect and recruit top talent.
  • Partner with hiring manager and HRP to produce quality job specifications and descriptions
  • Design a proactive approach to reaching passive candidates. Develop strategies to attract passive candidates.
  • Post robust job ads on institution site, social media channels, and relevant professional sites and job boards
  • Cultivate a network of potential candidates through proactive market research, events and on-going relationship management
  • Manage resume, cover letter, and application evaluation process
  • Conduct phone screens to deliver the best qualified candidates to meet the institutions needs
  • Plan, facilitate, and serve as point of contact for key meetings, interviews and campus visits
  • Maintain a solid understanding of industry trends and provide insight into the competitive landscape
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Attend various industry events and career fairs
Minimal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology communications, a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 year senior level experience in recruitment and human resources
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and source diverse passive talent
  • Ability to create robust recruitment strategies
  • Strong knowledge of interview techniques and effective resume evaluation methods
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Ability to create presentation and reports
  • Exceptional time-management, attention-to-detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Execute on individual assignments and projects independently and/or collaboratively as part of a high performing team
  • Ability to sell the organization to candidates
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and information
  • Ability to project a knowledgeable and professional image to clients, candidates and colleagues
  • Technically savvy with experience with HR databases, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft office suite
  • Proven ability to work in an environment with high visibility and the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations independently.
  • Track record of flawless execution and a strong ability to multitask in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU

  • Advanced recruiting techniques experience and strong executive level facilitation skills
  • SHRM Certified
Salary Range: commensurate with experience, starting at $60,000
