The Associate Director, Student Employment is responsible for the overall management and enhancement of the Student Employment Program at Western New England University. The Associate Director, Student Employment will collaborate across campus to enhance and grow the existing program to enhance students’ learning, leadership, career success, and professional identity. 

  • Oversee and implement all aspects of the University Student Employment Program collaborating closely with the offices of Human Resources and Student Payroll.
  • Identify and implement creative strategies and pilot programs to help ensure the University meets the Federal Work-Study Program requirements for student employment.
  • Cultivate student employment job opportunities and integrate into the Handshake career platform. Plan and facilitate the On-Campus Student Employment Fair.
  • Track and report on all student employees and prepare semester and annual reports on student employment.
  • Enhance the Student Employment policy and procedures manual for both managers and students. Create and facilitate student employment supervisor and student employee training programs and establish consistent communication with supervisors and students.
  • Develop and enhance creative approaches to educate students about student employment.
  • Collaborate with the Delbridge Career Center team, faculty, and the Division of Student Life. 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience utilizing recruiting/job posting platforms or Handshake (career management platform).
  • A master’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.  
  • Previous administrative work in a college, university, or similar setting, including working directly with students, preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and engage various constituents through presentations, trainings, and follow-up.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills with proficiency in MS Office, career technology, and analytical skills.
  • A strong commitment to a team environment and building relationships.
